MOC Recognition Statement: American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to (to be announced) MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

By completing this activity, you provide the ACR permission to share completion data with the ACCME and the certifying board.

After submitting a reflective statement with key takeaways from the meeting, MOC points will be applied for ABIM diplomates to the ABIM diplomate number and date of birth provided when you registered. Points are sent nightly to ACCME and then transferred to the ABIM Physician Portal. Please allow at least 48 hours for points to display in the portal.

The Training Rheum prepares nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists with the critical foundational knowledge necessary to actively see rheumatology patients and address their needs in collaboration with the care team.

This program will not be available in the on-demand portion of the Education Exchange.

Target Audience
NPs, PAs, and PharmDs who are new to rheumatology.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Perform a comprehensive history and physical examination for a new patient, including a detailed musculoskeletal examination and joint assessment
  • Perform a disease-focused history and physical examination for a follow-up patient, including musculoskeletal examination and joint assessment
  • Formulate an appropriate differential diagnosis
  • Order appropriate laboratory, radiographic examinations, and other diagnostic testing
  • Utilize and integrate results of laboratory, radiographic examinations, and other diagnostic testing into management plans under the supervision/collaboration of a rheumatologist
  • Recognize the effect health disparities exert when providing healthcare to populations
  • With appropriate supervision/collaboration, recognize and manage a number of rheumatic diseases if practicing in the adult setting
